What is
Sculptra?

Collagen is a protein that provides the skin structure resulting in firmer and more youthful look. Starting at the age of 30, you lose about 10% of collagen in the face and will continue to lose an additional 10% with each decade. When natural collagen production slows down, it results in saggy skin, volume loss, and poor elasticity of the skin. Although the aging process cannot be stopped, it can be slowed down. Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator and FDA approved to help gradually restore lost collagen, resulting in tighter and firmer skin.

Sculptra is made with biocompatible, biodegradable material called poly-L-lactic acid, which gets injected into the deep dermis of the skin’s structure. Over time, the PLLA gets absorbed into the body and helps rebuild lost collagen. It's bascially like a fertilizer for the skin. This results in restoration of volume loss and skin elasticity, producing a more youthful look, without the appearance of “looking over done.”

Sculptra is great for those who are in good health and would like to improve facial hollowness, wrinkles, saggy skin, or be used as preventative treatment for aging.

Sculptra injections are great for areas where collagen needs to be stimulated, like the face, neck or décolletage (chest).

After the completing the recommended series of treatments, Sculptra can last up to two years. It is recommended to have a maintenance treatment once a year to maintain your results.

Results with Sculptra are gradual, but optimal results occur in a few weeks to months and last up to two years.

There is minimal discomfort with Sculptra because it is mixed with lidocaine, a numbing agent. A vibration tool will also be provided to help distract your senses to make it as comfortable as possible during your treatment.

In clinical trials, the most common side effects reported included the following: redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, lumps, bumps, itching, pain at the injection site. These symptoms are typically mild and resolve within a few days.

The treatment will take typically about 45 mins to 1 hour.
